Happy New year!
As I sit here in the Ritz in London on New Years Day looking out at the park, I feel very grateful! Seeing the regimental band last night at The Gala New Year’s Eve Dinner, at the Ritz, I was reminded of my 50TH birthday, at Glamis Castle, Scotland, the childhood home of The Queen Mother! That wonderful birthday night, Queen Elisabeth’s personal regimental band marched out of the dark Shakespearean mist, about midnight, whilst serenading me and my guests by playing “OH DANNY BOY!” With tears running down my cheeks, my children looked up at me and asked – what is the matter Daddy? I said, nothing children! You will understand someday that adults sometimes cry when they are HAPPY! And I am very very happy that day! It was a very special day, not just because I was 50 and surrounded with many friends and family in a spectacular environment – but because I thought perhaps much of my career was behind me and I didn’t want that to be my legacy! In those days, I was known as the $400 million dollar man and I was only 2 years into my Coaching and Mentoring career! LOL! And thank God, it was not the highlight of my life and career! In the last 18 years, I and my QLA Mentees have CREATED $33.6 BILLION (and still counting) in value and accomplished MUCH MUCH MORE to make countless dreams come true! For that I am extraordinarily thankful and respectful! But I would be disingenuous if I said, I was also humbled by it! LOL!

My Christmas Holiday was made even better by receiving this Tweet from a Mentee! He now lives on an island in the Caribbean with his wife and family! He is 38 years old. I have known him since he was 25 and a struggling entrepreneur, when he brought me a deal at the Churchill Hotel in London! He has become wealthy in the last 5/6 years! He always had BIG IDEAS AND GOALS and wanted success very badly! Though he was a slow starter, he finally got what worked and has been on this success roll ever since and passed many of my Mentees, in the process!
NEW QLA CASTLE SEMINAR
Tomorrow my NEW QLA CASTLE EXRAVAGANZA will begin in a new format! But I am positive, me morphing the content will be terrific, based on my never ending research to make QLA – ALL IT CAN BE!
Some of the QLA Castle Seminar and Mentor Program changes:
- More intense interaction from me – ya that is possible! LOL!
- More unforgiving brutal honesty!
- More detailed weekly reports to Dan!
- More expansion of Comfort Zones!
- More accountability from the Mentees!
It has been brought to my attention by a few mentees that they can take more Doses Of Dan! WTF! Meaning I must be harder on them and hold them even more accountable! LOL! Well it might not be for all, but I will certainly accommodate! LOL! Or as once said:
QLA Mentees endure the verbal beatings and abuse because Dan brings them unqualified success and wins! And to remind those of you that have forgotten – THE WORLD IS A VERY UNFORGIVING PLACE AND I WANT YOU ALL TO BE PREPARED AND READY TO EXPAND YOUR COMFORT ZONES!
Hence, I would be crazy not to do more that works! LOL! In the years I have left training, coaching and mentoring, I will restrict what I do ONLY to the BEST OF THE BEST PRACTICES that I know for an absolute fact work geometrically! BTW: I was extremely tough on the $50 million guy above! LOL! Hence, I will use only FACT PATTERNS from the very best and most successful:
- They don’t create back-up plans.
You’ll work harder and a lot longer if your primary plan simply has to work because there is no other option. - They do the work….
There are no shortcuts. There are no overnight successes. Everyone has heard about the 10,000 hours principle but no one follows it….except remarkably successful people. - . ….and they work a lot more.
If you don’t embrace a workload others would consider crazy then your goal doesn’t mean that much to you…or it’s not particularly difficult to achieve. - They avoid crowds.
Remarkably successful people habitually do what other people won’t do. They go where others won’t go because there’s a lot less competition and a much greater chance for success. - They start at the end….
Never start small where goals are concerned. You’ll make better decisions – and find it much easier to work a lot harder – when your ultimate goal is ultimate success. - ….and they don’t stop there.
Remarkably successful people don’t try to win just one race. They expect and plan to win a number of subsequent races. - They sell.
When you truly believe in your idea, or your company, or yourself then you don’t need to have a huge ego, or a huge personality. You don’t need to “sell.” - They are never too proud….
To admit they made a mistake. To say they are sorry. To have big dreams. To admit they owe their success to others. To poke fun at themselves. To ask for help.
To fail.
And to try again.

Here is an email response to a kid who faltered! It is useful to read, so you understand exactly how Dan Pena, thinks and responds!
I HAD CROSSED U OFF MY WANNABEE LIST BASED ON ME SENDING U UR MONEY BACK! FUNNY MY CONTROLLER ASKED ME IF I WAS REALLY SENDING UR MONEY BACK? LOL! OTHERWISE U WUD OF NEVER HEARD FROM ME AGAIN! BUT OUT OF THE BLU U EMAILED ME! WTF! HENCE, I THOUGHT PERHAPS THIS WAS A SIGN, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS ON MY WIFES B DAY 8 DEC? AND I CUD MAKE IT A LEARNING LESSON, NOT JUST 4 U, BUT MANY OTHERS! I WILL USE THE STORY ANNOMOUSLY IN THE FUTURE, HOPING IT HELPS OTHERS!
U STARTED OUT STRONG AND THEN WENT LIMP! MOST PEOPLE NEVER GET STARTED – BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY U STILL QUIT!
